Akbaly is a world of quiet flowers and living traditions, art and design that bring joy, calm beauty, and special moments into everyday life.
Founded by graphic designer and artist Nahiely Velázquez, Akbaly weaves together two universes:
Akbaly Floral, with meditative pen-and-ink botanicals and soft, elegant compositions; and Akbaly Folklórico, which celebrates the richness of Mexican decorative arts, textiles, and festive motifs.
Across prints, illustrations, patterns, and thoughtfully designed objects, every piece is created to feel timeless, intentional, and deeply human. Akbaly exists to give people a sense of serenity and rootedness—tiny visual altars that honor both the delicacy of flowers and the strength of culture.
NAHIELY VELÁZQUEZ
Hi, I’m Nahiely Velázquez, a graphic designer and artist from México, now based in Seattle, WA. Through my brand Akbaly®, I’m known for detailed pen-and-ink florals and a deep love for traditional Mexican motifs.
My relationship with art and flowers began in childhood, long before I formally trained and worked as a graphic designer. Today I bring those two paths together, blending the precision of design with the sensitivity of fine art to create calm, romantic, highly considered work.
I divide my practice between Akbaly Floral, focused on botanical drawings and prints, and Akbaly Folklórico, inspired by Talavera, embroidery, papel picado, and other artisanal traditions from across Mexico. Through both, my intention is the same: to offer art that feels like a pause, an invitation to breathe, remember, and surround yourself with beauty.
